I am small, He is great

What am I but a speck of dirt, I am small
What am I but a grain of salt, I am small
Who is He who made me, He is great
Who is He whose hand holds mine, He is great

"But with you there is forgiveness; therefore you are feared.
I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I put my hope.
My soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning,
more than watchmen wait for the morning."

Psalm 130:4-6

I Long to be on the Hill

On the hill is where you can view the horizon and it is quiet and peaceful up there
On the hill you can hear the wind blow by and the Lords voice becomes more clear
I long to be up there on the hill night and day i wish that's where i could be
But I'm here right now in the midst of the drama and chaos where no birds chirp
where my thoughts become blurred with the yelling and screaming and
i long for the sound of Gods voice to calm the storms to make it all better and all-right
it was once much more peaceful inside my heart and thoughts or at least that's in my dreams

"I lift up my eyes to the hills--
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth."

Psalm 121:1-2

Today is Life

The pressure of the yelling and crying children tend to take over this house; my husband mocking and making fun of them, while I silently anger-ready to explode. Even a breakfast prayer is turned into a chaotic series of attacks where our children become used and even possessed...i torment us until we cease prayer and devotion to God.
It's just life today and yes today is life. Their is no promise of tomorrow, so let us rejoice and be glad with the chaos while we pray and thank God for our oatmeal and muffins. We will persist, no matter what demonic forces posses our children and try to water down our faith and our beliefs, it's all that we know and all that we want to be like Jesus to learn and to grow like Christ. Lord help us! We praise you!!

"(Thus)Yes is the man blessed who fears the Lord." Psalm 128:4

"Blessed is the (man) person who always fears the Lord, but he who hardens his heart falls into trouble." Proverbs 28:14

Sick and Tired of Life!

Whose felt this way recently, in the past or knows someone feeling this way right now? As I’m typing this I’ve been feeling sick and really tired; not of life, but I have been there before. I think that I have a stomach virus or something but I want go to the doctor; hoping that I’ll just get better. Now, what do you do  when you don’t have control; like in the situation of being physically sick and tired or even mentally fed up with life?  Well, after I slept as much as I could in a house with 2 children under 3; I read in the Word and then I prayed to God and asked Him: what is something good that I could do while feeling icky, (yep I have mom brain). Writing has always been therapeutic for me and so that’s what I’m doing now. This morning I read Proverbs 21 and verse 21 stood out to me it says,

21 People who try hard to do good and be faithful will find life, goodness, and honor.” ERV (easy to read version)

Now, yesterday mornings bible study was on the Good, Bad and Ugly and in life there are many events and memories that we could categorize as these. Proverbs 21:21 is saying if we focus on doing good; that being God’s plan for us then everything will eventually fall into place and be all right. Doing good  doesn't always come with immediate gratification. It’s like soup the longer the ingredients sit together the tastier it will be. Our faith becomes richer the longer we sit on it and our lives will be filled with goodness and honor. People will know us as a good person and respect us. So, rather you or someone you know is going through some trials right now that you could describe as, “Sick and Tired of Life,” or physically- I encourage you to find hope in God’s word and reach out to someone today who may need your encouragement too; in turn it will help you feel better today and that’s all that we have to live for is today– so let’s make it the best day that can be! I hope that you like this newsletter and will share it and visit my facebook page too and say hi!

Words of Encouragement: The Curvy Road to the Straight Path

God isn't going to force us into His will and plans for us. He is a patient Father and will allow us to make detours, swerves and go up and down curvy roads in order to draw us near to Him and their's always a breaking point where we finally surrender all and humble ourselves and say: "Ok God, I give up! Do as you will." and I imagine Him saying, "Now, I can work in you and through you my child!" Proverbs 4:25-27

Proverbs 4:25-27-New Living Translation (NLT)

25 Look straight ahead,
and fix your eyes on what lies before you.
26 Mark out a straight path for your feet;
    stay on the safe path.
27 Don’t get sidetracked;
keep your feet from following evil.

This is good advice, we should follow it; but realistically we all fumble and fall and sometimes give into temptations- it doesn't make us failures or eternally damned it just makes us human and God knows that our journey will take it's course but He also knows that our hearts have a special place just for Him.

Be Encouraged today! Love in Christ, Kim Fincher

Today's Reflection: Spiritual Blessings

Ephesians 1

New Living Translation (NLT)

Spiritual Blessings

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son.[b] He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding.
God has now revealed to us his mysterious plan regarding Christ, a plan to fulfill his own good pleasure. 10 And this is the plan: At the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ—everything in heaven and on earth. 11 Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God,[c] for he chose us in advance, and he makes everything work out according to his plan.
12 God’s purpose was that we Jews who were the first to trust in Christ would bring praise and glory to God. 13 And now you Gentiles have also heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own[d] by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago. 14 The Spirit is God’s guarantee that he will give us the inheritance he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. He did this so we would praise and glorify him.
