Verses from Proverbs 29

I Need More...Self-Control

Yes, I need more Self-Control
How do I aim higher and gain more self-control? I am lacking especially these last few months.
We pay off our debt and credit cards and I go spending and rack it back up again. It's frustrating
and humbling to admit that I need more self-control. I am praying as I confront this issue and do what I can to address this problem head on that the Lord will give me His help in producing this fruit of the spirit: self-control. Galatians 5:22
I am by nature a problem-solver. I don't like to just have or state a problem I like to give a solution to
the problem. The problem: over spending Solution: 30 days no spending fast to start, I gave my cards to my husband and let him know I am not to spend and to be accountable to him. This is humiliating and hard but I need his help so we can keep moving forward and not backwards. We need to keep increasing our credit score not lowering it with more debt. I've got to break free from this addiction of shopping online. I might have to take it a notch up and do 30 days no internet for the next step until it all gets paid back. We chose not to use government assistance, to help others when we have extra, and to get our hospital bills paid off instead of having another child so this has just got to happen.
We want to buy an RV and spend time with our children travelling and doing missionary work. I've got to give up this terrible habit: NOW!
I firmly stand on the Word of God and my Father God's promises and will not be defeated by this fleshly desire you see I know that I'm more than an overcomer with Christ Jesus who is my strength and I can do all things through Christ. Philippians 4:13
Credit can be used if doing with restraint, within ones budget and to take advantage of cash back rewards, travel points, and increase in your credit score to buy a house. It has it's place and it's benefits but it can be dangerous if used wrongly like I've been doing.
I am flawed and make mistakes. I have learned a lot about money and finances since I've been a wife and a mom but God's not done with me I still have lessons to learn along this journey. I will learn them you see I'm a fighter, and very stubborn, LOL!
I will keep learning to live better and make the best choices not the worst for my family and do it by faith and by my actions. It's hard work to push forward but so necessary and so worth it not to settle
for just living but to live the very best. When we fail it's not the end it's only a stumbling block it's not as important as what we do when we fall down do we wallow in our loss or do we get up, dust off and take a step forward. You can't be afraid to fail or you will never enjoy living.
I am praying for my success and getting out of debt and hope that you will pray for me too.
Thanks for reading and letting me share with you.
Have a blessed and Happy New Year 2015!

Have a Blessed and Merry Christmas!

Should We All Tolerate Your Beliefs?

"I Look up to the mountains-- does my help come from there?
My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth!" Psalm 121:1-2

Today I write about tolerance for others beliefs. I am for the first time in my life experiencing grief for my children as I raise them up in this world and choose to put them in public school I can see that I not only have to teach them our beliefs but also tolerance for their peers beliefs.
I find myself on the minority as a Believer in Christ teaching my children that gifts do not come from Santa Clause and as my husband and me feel that to teach them the truth in the beginning is the best path to take. As both of us grew up in homes that told us the lie that most parents tell their children that Santa Clause will bring them gifts. When we both finally found out the truth we both experienced hurt and pain and we do not want to carry on such a tradition as it is in this nation.
Our belief is to tell them the truth and that is our belief and faith in Jesus Christ being born on Christmas day. We are teaching them about the joy found in giving, caring, and loving to the best of our abilities. But, as a minority I know that if we don't teach them to tolerate the majority who will be talking about Santa Clause they will be persecuted and it will create great stress for us with other parents. This saddens me greatly that it's just assumed that everyone believes this way instead of taking into consideration other's beliefs we live in a time where this one belief bullies and rules out all others. So should I tolerate your beliefs in Santa Clause? Why should I when you don't tolerate my beliefs in not teaching this fairy tale to my children? Think about that the next time you say to someones children, did you visit santa clause or is santa going to visit you?

Your children will believe what you believe and my children already know that Jesus Christ is the reason why we celebrate Christmas, not santa clause. Does that offend you? Well, it offends me that I am the minority in a supposedly christian nation. Kind of makes you think twice about such a report.... I am praying for the truth of Christ to be wide spread and taught to our children more and more it's not just a belief that we as Christians should keep amongst ourselves and in church it is Our Lifestyle that will make an impact in this World. Our you going to be a bright light being bold for your faith or a dim bulb, blending in not causing any fuss?? What would Christ want us to do and how would He want us to live as His followers?

Do you follow the rules of this world and it's beliefs conforming to them or do you embrace a changed life made by the Holy Spirit transforming you from the inside out? I know my answer! What's yours?

Jeremiah 29:11New Living Translation (NLT)

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

Turning Your House into a Home-living room makeover

If you are like me you don't have the time to redo your furniture and you don't have the money to buy new furniture. Here's what I did for quick and simple and very cheap furniture covers.

i repurposed a large mens shirt and a pillow cover for the stained chair.
and for my brand new fabric  red couch i wanted to prevent stains and used a xl black lace skirt and two pillow cases.

Here's another solution and better one for the red couch. we really needed to replace our years of being peed and spilled on fabric cloth couch i didn't want to get another black leather futon which i payed $200 for so i bought this red futon with a fabric covering for $90. Here's my better solution for covering it. In the pic below I'm using 2 zebra Eclipse curtains for $9 each and they can be easily thrown in the washer when needing cleaned and they have a water proof type backing in case spills happen and they will it will protect the fabric couch until my boys are older. Now i'm going to redo my other couch and will post on that one when it's done!

I also am washing the matching red curtain and will replace the mismatch blue one, lol! I love it!!

Now to wait for the new rug and i need to wash the table. i would paint the wall but we're just renting.

A Broken and Used Woman

"Joyful are those you discipline, Lord, those you teach with your instructions. You give them relief from troubled times until a pit is dug to capture the wicked. When doubt filled my mind your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer. The Lord is my fortress; my God is the mighty rock where I hide."
Psalm 94:6, 12-13, 19, 22

"Being Used & Abused, a life time of seeking love in all the wrong places
one lie after another, taking from me and leaving me empty with nothing
but pain to show for all you offered me. A thick shell covers my scars
so I can keep going but now with a mind filled with how I can get you
the way you got me. Instead I will act innocent but in reality I am using
you. Wondering whose got your back? Thinking how'd I get like this....
One day I was a youthful dreamer filled with life and hope and the next
a broken and torn flower, deprived from water, yearning for love and life."

This is a poem that describes my past life, a part of my testimony of who I use
to be before I found living water and true love, real love through Jesus Christ

"A gentleman came to me in my sleep, he held out His hand, and with a voice
that soothed all my wounds lifted me up out of my dark gloom, He shielded
me from further harm and protected me from pain. His love was pure and true
I now felt hope, strength, and new life growing inside of me. I drank the living water
He freely offered me and knew my Father's love, healing the pain and the shame
of where I was now in prison after committing some crimes and getting into alot of
trouble. Christ's love had no false hope, no lies, and no "to good to be true" claims.
His promises stood true and are true in my life to this day 7 years later after I accepted Jesus
Christ as my Saviour and put my trust in His Word the Holy Bible." My life now after Christ

He is real and has never failed me. He's given me more treasures than I ever had before: A Godly Husband whose love for me is beyond my understanding, not one but two amazing boys who call me Mom and rely on me for their nurturing and care, forgiveness, reuniting with my family, healing, friends, and family in Christ. I am truly living richly in this lifetime and store up my treasure in Heaven where no rust can destroy them.

"Come, let us worship and bow down, Let us kneel before the Lord our maker, for he is our God. We are the people he watches over, the flock under his care. If only you would listen to his voice today!" Psalm 95:6-7

Cash the Check or Not?

Would you cash this check?

Have you ever received an offer like this in the mail? This is what I call a predator tactic and I'm going to share with you why you should never think that this is a great option to pay for bills, christmas presents or anything.

1. you will be required to pay off in 12 months with payments of $156 a month for a total pay back of over $1800 which is almost double the amount you borrowed or they loaned you.

does that sound like a fair deal to you? Not!

2. If you have $156 a month to pay these guys back then surely you'd be better off saving that money for one year to get the full amount of $1800 in your savings account that you can use.

3. You are going to be paying an extra $55 acquisition charge plus $589 even if you were to pay them back sooner in the loan agreement they do not promise that you will receive any amount of refund it says less than a $1.

I know alot of people who will be cashing the check and it really saddens me to see people think they are so desperate that this is an answered prayer but it really is only a trap to make these guys a little money and put you a little bit more in debt. So I pray that this Christmas you will stay away from loan companies and simplify what gifts you give. I personally spent about $200 for about 40 gifts and payed with cash no loans or credit cards this year. Theirs many homemade gifts that you can make and give it shouldn't matter the cost of the item n if it does to the giver than I say that's their problem because I'm trying to get out of debt.

Here's the details of such a loan. Always think twice before giving into this too good to be true type scheme because you will be paying almost twice what you borrowed and it's not worth it.

What are you Thankful For?

"One of the things I always pray for is the opportunity, God willing, to come at last to see you. For I long to visit you so I can bring you some spiritual gift that will help you grow strong in the Lord. When we get together, I want to encourage you in your faith, but I also want to be encouraged by yours." Romans 1:10-12

As I reflect on the Word of God this morning I think of this ministry the Lord has blessed me with the spiritual gift to promote and to write as I stay home as a Mom and wife handling the household and it brings warmth and thankfulness to my heart. I never knew that I could be what I am today or do what I do today and I owe it all to my life changing experience as a new child of God, believing in Jesus Christ as my Saviour has transformed my heart, mind, and spirit.

I am praying that wherever you are and whatever your beliefs that you stay warm and know this that Jesus Christ is real and He loves you and wants to introduce you to God: Father who loves you dearly.
