Just One More Drink

Since I am a woman I am going to talk to you woman and young girls even 13, 14, and 15 years old who have already adapted a lifestyle of drinking hard liqeour, beer, wine coolers. I was there I took my first drink at 13 and that was some Jack Daniel's I thought i was something when I spiced my soda with some of that drinking like it was nothing.

Well, life went on mine went to las vegas which i didn't drink then for some reason i just stopped for a season. Then i got divorced and moved to austin and after some disappointments and a alcoholic roomie i decided to dive into that. She taught me how to drink and I did. I ended up passing out in a house with people i didn't know and a guy who was there as i threw my guts up, I could have been raped or even killed and would've been too drunk to even care.

This became a lifestyle of dealing with disappointment that led to drugs, which led to attempt of suicide, prostitution, homelessness, and yes rape. Don't think just a little drinking habit want lead to this or worse for you too because it has to many a good girls and woman and it can for you too.

Their's a happy ending to my story but their's none when it comes to drinking. Today I am a writer, a teacher, a mom and wife and free from alcohol and drug use thanks to my Savior Jesus Christ. Find out more: www.KimFincher.org

Daily Inspiration

Daily Inspiration: (from my tuesday womans bible study group study) I used the NLT Study Bible and commentary for this study.
Sometimes we may go through a period where we:
o   sleep in all day because you can?
o   loose an interest in life?
o   struggle with depression and feeling alone?
o   frequently ask ourselves what am I going to do today?
Some reasons may be: the children have left the nest or have started school
It’s important not to give into these struggles and to keep our eye on Chist each day. Let’s open to Phil. 4:4 Read scripture & Comm. “Always be full of joy”

Eph. 5:15-20/ comm. Vs. 18- the Holy Spirit, 19-20 singing & making music
We should be filled with the Living Water of Christ the Holy Spirit and not alcohol drinks or any other sins.
John 4:10-Living Water comm.

Philippians 4:8 Do our thoughts and struggles match up to this scripture? Here are some ways to activate the Living Water of God each day in our lives.

1. Thank God: as soon as we wake up; even before we get out of our bed.
2. Worship God: by get on your knees and proclaiming “I am your servant, I choose to serve you Lord, you are my God, my Savior and not the world.”
3. Seek God: Ask God what are your plans for me today? Wait and listen. Write down what He says. Ask Him for some direction from the Word. Read, take time to meditate on that Word, maybe write a verse down and have it where you can see it throughout the day to keep you grounded and on track. A great book to read on this is A Woman After God’s Own Heart by Elizabeth George which we are studying this Saturday & I’ll tell you more after we finish here.
4. Take Notes: Keep a prayer journal and pray for the needs of others and for your own needs. Accept God’s answer to your prayers and praise Him in advance for answering your prayers.
5. Believe and Reflect: Have a time of praise and worship each day. Make up a new song unto the Lord do it with instruments if you know how to play one. This will give you the same refreshment as soaking in a bath or taking a shower. I actually do this in the shower and then just around the house and sometimes with my boys and my husband. He plays the guitar.

Let’s take another look at Philippians 4:8. “Fix your thoughts on what is:

True: loyal, honest, just, legitimate, right
Honorable: characteristics of integrity, upright
Right: correct or moral behavior, a just claim of something
Pure: free of contamination, or impurities, clean, guiltless, and faultless
Lovely: beautiful
Admirable: excellent, good, worthy, marvelous
Excellent: very good of its kind, superior
Praise worthy: applaudable, commendable, fine, excellent, honorable

Know Your History

Today is Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday! A day that is honored by
the government by no mail delivery or banks opened and the kids
get this day off from school. Who is MLK Jr.? Why does his birthday
get celebrated by the nation? Well let's learn together because I really
don't know I wanted to do some research and learn my history so
you could know your history too. If you know more than I post feel
free to comment below and I'd love to learn more.

For more than ten years, King’s inspiring speeches (he gave more than 2,500 in his lifetime) earned him followers across the United States and internationally. He traveled millions of miles; led protest marches, sit-ins and boycotts (which often led to his arrest) everywhere he saw racial disparity; published five books, numerous articles and essays, including the “Letter from a Birmingham Jail,” now famously known as the call to action for the civil rights movement; and won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964.
Yet King is perhaps best remembered for delivering his 1963 “I Have a Dream” speech in front of a quarter of a million people in the Mall in Washington, DC. His famous line, "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character," still resonate today.
Five years later, he was killed in Memphis, where he was to lead a protest march--shot by an assassin while standing on the balcony outside his motel room.
Today we celebrate not only Dr. King's life and accomplishments, but also the movement he was part of, and the continuing struggle to extend rights and dignity to all Americans.

The Father's Love- John 14

The Father’s Love:
Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. Jesus told him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.’ 10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words I speak are not my own, but my Father who lives in me does his work through me. “ John 14:1, 6, 10
Heart- “kardia”-Greek: the inner person. Emphasis is on the mind in this context.
Troubled- “tarasso”- Greek: to agitate-to cause one inward commotion, make one anxious, distressed, cause one’s spirit to have fear and dread.
Examples when Jesus was troubled: John 11:33  “When Jesus saw her weeping and saw the other people wailing with her, a deep anger welled up within him,[a] and he was deeply troubled.”
John 12:27  Now my soul is deeply troubled. Should I pray, ‘Father, save me from this hour’? But this is the very reason I came!”
John 13:21 “Now Jesus was deeply troubled,[a] and he exclaimed, “I tell you the truth, one of you will betray me!”
We’ve all experienced these feelings of being deeply troubled in our hearts which workings is in our minds. This is the primary goal of satan to keep us troubled, agitated, anxious, and without peace. Their was a time that I didn’t know Jesus as my saviour and I was living in the greatest darkness, I had some great fear. God was with me then he sent a believer to witness to me all about Jesus Christ. One night I was desperate for change and I prayed to God that if Jesus was real I’d like to know this Jesus as my friend knew Him. That night Jesus came to me, all I seen was His hand extended to mine and He said, “Take my hand and I’ll take you to The Father.” His voice was warm and melodic, deeply soothing. I took His hand and I woke up free! Now, I didn’t automatically become a model Christian woman. It took little steps of faith and each time God answered a prayer I was a little bit more ready to believe in Him and live for Him. But, it doesn’t happen overnight. We have to daily work-out our salvation as Pastor Johnson recently said. We have to work out for Him to work in us.
Let’s close with prayer but first I’d like us to read together from Ephesians 4 one of my first favorite scriptures. Amen.
“Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for freeing me from sin and darkness and my troubled heart and filling me with your spirit and your plans. Help us to grow in you every day as we trust in you and rely on you for all our needs.” In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Know Who You Serve

Don't be divided you can not serve two masters. You can not serve God and the World. Know who you serve and serve Him well everyday proclaim it when you wake and be sure that your plans are pleasing unto Him. Do you have  secret desire to obtain riches and fame in the name of serving God?

Let's get something straight God doesn't need you! You've got to realize this and realize that You need Him. Stop dreaming of some day of bigness to arrive and be content, be thankful, and be serving God right now in the humble and small things.

Instead of praying for greatness pray for humility and contentment and that your choices are God's very best for you and ask God to give you discernment and conviction and remember to repent daily as you work-out your salvation so God can work-in you. Amen!

Don't Be Discouraged By the Discouraged

Be all you can be, and do all you can do for the Lord and He will bless your being and your doing and both are needed. By faith we believe and by our faith we do. Amen!

Never believe that something isn't possible when you are following the Word of God and doing for the Glory of God. Keep believing. Don't be discouraged by others lack of interest or excuses and by those that maybe are just discouraged themselves.

"I can do all things through Christ who is my strength." Phil. 4:13

"And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise." Philippians 4:8

I am going to keep believing, keep doing, and keep being all I can be for the Lord's army. I am a soldier for Christ Jesus!! Amen.

A Better High

I'm Drunk & I'm high, but I'm not going to die from it
The Spirit of God keeps me sustained, with something much stronger
than the pain caused by drinking and drugs
I've got the high that can not die from praising the Lord
I've got the drink that is living water, that gives eternal life
and not death of the liver or heart from years of pain suppressed behind the drink & the drugs.

This is choice grade, 100% Pure, all-natural high. Once you've tried some of this
you want touch that second hand stuff again. He is the breath of life, living water,
love, joy, peace, forgiver. Freedom is found in Him and without the consequences of a life
living in sin. You can't find this in a club, bar, or party this is found by asking Him in your heart
and receiving His greatest gift ever offered: eternal life for your soul.

Don't die for a high or a drink today, which ends in dependence and eternal sin and death of your soul.
Give Jesus Christ a try and you want regret and you will never look back again. He gives freedom from your pain, a better path and plan for your life, a healed heart, brokenness taken away, burdens lifted from your shoulders and placed on His, He is the Son of God, Son of Man, Saviour, Creator, and Father God.
I'm praising Him today for my new life, my family, my home, and my freedom. Thank you Lord!

"I pray for all those in prison today that they may find life everlasting for their souls and all those who do not know Jesus as their Lord and Savior around the World. Join me in this prayer." Amen.
