Embrace Your Gifts to Serve the Lord

The Lord has rekindle that fire in me to write for Him. He's shown me how what I write is important and helps many people that I may never know or meet but I must keep writing and believing in the annointance God has poured onto me for His glory and service.

So, I'm excited to pick back up a project that I started last year my 3rd book: Words of Encouragement Daily Devotional. On this note I just want to encourage anyone reading this to not allow discouragement, disappointment, and distractions to stop you from picking up the pieces and moving forward in life. Don't allow your past failures to determine your futures success. Let the past go and hold onto the hope and promises in the Word of God for your life today and tomorrow.

Remember: Matthew 6:25-33

Disciples of Christ

"Dear friends, since God loves us that much, we surely ought to love each other." 1 John 4:11

The kind of love Pauls referring to is the one where God sent his son Jesus to take away our sins. This really makes me cringe at my own selfish sins and anger issues. My children teach me just how much I have to learn on a daily basis. They push every button and God says love them more and He's shown me how my anger comes from my desires which are selfish and a sin.

When I recognize the sin I am to confess it before God, repent, and depend on the Lord to help me rid that sin from my heart and from my life. This is a dirty process and very hard but I know that it's an important one if I want to continue growing in the fullness and likeness of Christ and I do and so I will. I know we all sin but we must take responsibility and work towards sinning no more. If we want to be a good example to others this is the way we do it. We all have something to learn and improve on in our lives we should never stop being disciples of Christ.

Never Settle in Life

The Dangers of the Last Days

3 You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. 2 For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. 3 They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. 4 They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. 5 They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that! 2 Timothy 3:1-5

This is really speaking to me this morning as my family is making a real personal transition from a church home in search of one that better fits our family n each of our values and need to grow spiritually. The church we went to last sunday the speaker was wearing shorts above his knees and nobody lifted their hands to praise God, the Pastor's wife was wearing a less than modest dress, but her toenails were painted and so were all the other woman. I wasn't impressed.
This sunday we couldn't even stay due to the lack of nursery workers our children didn't approve of the childrens facilities we have a 2 and almost 4 year old with no toys insight and no nursery worker it was less than accommodating. So now my husbands determined to find one by leaving us home to go to another church one was all i could handle with my precious boys.
With this I encourage you do not settle for a church that is less than best for your families needs. For us their must be discipleship for young adults, woman's n men's bible studies with child care, the holy spirit present in praise n worship, churchwide involvement in community outreach, welcoming to new members who are new to the faith and giving to the needy that our not members of the church. these are all biblical principles and modest attire by men and woman, with leadership that we can respect and learn from and an interest by the members to fellowship outside of church hours, hospitality is very biblical and is necessary within the body of Christ.

Proverbs 31 Woman

As I was reading a book recommendation by a homeschool Mom I wanted to share with you some of these Godly traits with the scriptures as a great reference to study and pray about so that you can grow as a woman of God as I desire to do so and that's why I studied the word and found some scripture references to go along with the traits. The book I was reading is: Created to Be His Help Meet by Debi Pearl

1. A Woman of Virtue or virtuous- morally excelllent, righteous Ruth 3:11, Prov. 21:29, 31:10, 29
2. Gracious (ness)- abounding in grace and kindness, merciful, compassionate Prov. 11:16, John 1:16, 2 Cor. 8:7, Col. 4:6, 1 Tim. 1:14, 1 Peter 1:10, 13
3. Wisdom- knowledge, insight, judgement Prov. 2:6, 3:13, 8:11, 11:2, 16:16, 23:23, 29:3
4. Prudent- Marked by wisdom or judiciousness, discreet Prov. 14:8, 18, 22:3
5. Goodness- the beneficial quality of something, kindness Psalm 145:7, Rom. 14:17, 15:14

We could also find and study more scriptures for each of these 5 by finding synonyms for each word used here and depending on your translation. I used the NLT Study bible for this study. This is a great way to grow in the word and to understand who we are to God and what the Word says we are and who we are to be. I love the word of God! don't you?

Have a blessed day and stay encouraged in His ways.  love, Kim
