11 Cheap Meals

This week I wanted to share with you how to cook from what you have in your kitchen already. This is great for when you overspend, want to save money. or just use up your pantry and freezer items.
First: take inventory of all the food and ingredients you have on hand. My List:

  • 5 lb potatos
  • 3 lbs apples
  • 3 lbs frozen chicken drumsticks
  • 3 loaves of bread in deepfreeze
  • 1/2 pound sliced ham
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • sliced breakfast bacon
  • can of biscuits
  • 2 sausage links
  • 1 lb carrots
  • bushel of broccoli fresh
  • 1/2 gallon milk
  • 1/2 container of butter
  • frozen grape, orange juice
  • frozen turkey burgers-6
  • sliced cheese
  • shredded cheese
  • 2 containers peanut butter
  • jar of jelly
  • ranch dressing
  • salsa
  • condiments: mustard, mayo, ketchup, 4 eggs
  • seasonings: seasoned salt, cinnamon, salt, pepper, garlic powder, cumin, vanilla
  • bag of flour, sugar, pudding, jello
  • 1/2 bag of cereal, sleeve of crackers
  • canned goods: 10 cans tomato sauce, 4 cans green beans, corn, 2 cans tuna, various cans of beans
Now take your meat to make some meals. We also had a 10lb pumpkin that I wanted to cook before it went bad so I started with that.
Meals:
  1. Pumpkin Stew: ingredients-1/2 pumpkin, 3lbs potatos, 1lb turkey, 1 can corn, green beans, black beans, 3 cans tomato sauce
  2. pumpkin pie: 1/2 pumpkin, butter, milk, egg, cinnamon, vanilla, sugar, powdered sugar, brown sugar
  3. Sausage & Biscuits (pig-in-the blankets with cheese slices)
  4. Homemade Pizza with yeast(already have) flour, tomato sauce, cheese, brocolli, ham, sliced pepperonis (already have)2 pizzas per 2 1/2 cups of flour (super-cheap)
  5. Muffins: with pumpkin pie and flour, egg, milk, baking soda, 1 apple
  6. Turkey burgers on loaf bread and with cheese and canned beans
  7. Homemade pancakes with flour, some pancake mix i already have, cinnamon, vanilla
  8. Tuna Sandwiches with 2 cans of tuna add mayo, chopped pickles already have put on bread add cheese eat with apple and beans
  9. Peanut butter & Jelly sandwiches eat with apples w/peanut butter
  10. Crockpot chicken with potatos and bacon
  11. Bacon & Toast eat with muffins or pancakes.
I know everyone might not have this much stuff but I hope that you get the point and can come up with some great meals with what you do have already in your kitchen. If you need some more food you can go to your local food-pantry or churches that have a food pantry.
