2 c warm water
1 package or 2 1/4 tsp of active dry yeast (i buy in bulk n it lasts almosts a year)
4 c flour (we use all purpose whole wheat) choose ur fave flour
2 tsp salt
2 tsp olive oil
for seasoned pizza dough optional:
1/4 c italian seasoned tomato sauce
1 tbsp italian seasoning
pick a bowl with a lid that will allow for your dough to double in size
and a warm spot if it's cold in ur kitchen turn the oven on to warm 20 minutes b4 hand
add 4 cups of flour to ur bowl
add ur yeast, salt and mix
add 2 c warm water and olive oil
add ur 1/4 c italian seasoned tomato sauce and 1 tbsp italian seasoning
mix with a wood spoon and then ur hands until well mixed and firm but moist may need a couple
of more splashes of water
Cover with lid and place on top of warm stove for 3-4 hours minimal
when done rising poke with fingers
get some flour on ur hands n sprinkle dough
seperate into two equal balls of dough
sprinkle ur pizza pan and place dough
get a roller and flatten out into ur pizza crust
you can make as thin or thick as u want with or without
a thick crust
we make ours thin n flat for bigger pizzas
Preheat oven to 450 may need to adjust depending on ur oven n thickness of crust
you can put the other dough in the fridge for 1 or 2 days b4 using or store in the freezer up to 2 weeks
add 1 can of sauce i get the small cans with added seasonings b4 you spread ur sauce out add on top one or 2 tsps of olive oil and then spread out sauce evenly over entire pizza
cover with your favorite pizza toppings, you can cut into slices with your finger and let each family member put their ingredients on there my kids love to do this!
our favorite toppings are mozzarella or mexican cheese, lots of cheese!
pepperoni or turkey pepperoni, black olives, spinach, sliced deli meat, i like mine with pineapples,
my husband loves peppers and mushrooms.
cook for 15 minutes thin crust, more for thicker crusts.
