How Can I save more money?

Think you are all out of ideas and still want to save more money on grocery shopping?

  1. Beans and Rice anyone? Yes this is what we're going to be eating to stretch our weekly budget and food.
  2. Homemade everything: muffins, cookies, pizza, yogurt
  3. only super cheap chicken (chicken fryers .50clb) no beef, turkey, or fish or other meats. accept for hotdogs and bologna for school lunches.
  4. cut the junk food and eating out, no date nights, haircuts, etc, cheese accept the cheapest real sliced cheese and once a month shredded cheese.
  5. live below your means now so you can get out of debt and have more to live with and give with.
  6. Be Free! Be content with less and pray for those in 3rd world countries who wish they had what you had that will give you a change of mind and heart.
  7. Some cheap foods are: potatoes, in season fruits, vegies, can peas, corn, green beans, some frozen fruit n vegies, rice n beans in the bulk, flour (homemade), homemade salsa ingredients, oatmeal, ramen noodles, whole grain pastas n noodles n vegie (more filling too).

Please tune in to my facebook page for lots of resources not found over here. I'm also maybe going to create pinterest boards we'll see how that goes. Stay encouraged in Christ's Love!

Being Debt Free is Possible and it's pleasing to God!

Do not be a slave to the lender!
A borrower is slave to the lender.
Credit Card, Student Loan, medical debt these all can cause us grief,
money is the #1 cause of arguments leading to divorce in marriages.
Let's put God back as priority #1 and slay the debt devil with the full armor of God!

Most will laugh at you, mock you and tell you that's impossible! Let them. I know that all things are possible with Christ as the Head of my house guiding and leading my husband and my finances. The key is contentment and living below your means. Christ is my strength! Philippians 4:13

My husband finally joined me in this debt-free journey December 2015 he took a 2nd job we saved our emergency fund which is following the Dave Ramsey Program Baby Steps you can learn for free on youtube.
We then got a fat income tax refund and used that to pay off our bank loan of $2800 bucks and a couple of other cc debts. We had to use $500 of our e.f. to pay for tires n a new battery for my car. We refilled the e.f. and eventually I convinced Joseph to quit his d.r. job because I was not content is what it boils down to and lost focus. This was after I decided to take a pt job working for dominoes as a delivery driver the same job my husband took. So, he put in his 2 weeks notice and i was going to work his shifts that lasted for a month until I quit due to a coworker i couldn't get along with him telling me what to do being ocd and im pretty sure he was too. That was difficult to feel like I let down my husband and myself as I've always quit jobs but I did stick with this one longer than i wanted to. We didn't make much progress in the debt-free area in fact I decided without consulting my husband to use our e.f. to pay off a debt. After that we couldn't save anything my car needed more work $1k worth actually and $800 of it we agreed to pay for with a cc check that would be 0% for 12 months. Afterwards i felt so guilty and knew that was the wrong choice.
A couple weeks ago April 15th I think it was Joseph and me decided after he had been looking for a ft replacement job with nothing close to his current pay that he would work at dominoes again pt.
He's earned $150 so far and we will be living on less than his ft paycheck of $400 a week giving us an extra $100-$150 on average to put towards saving our e.f. b.s.1 and then paying off debt b.s.2.
So we will have about $1600 a month to go towards the baby steps.
Our goal is to have our emergency fund of $1k to be funded in 2 weeks, we have: $115 now and by the end of the week will have about $50-$75 more from his paycheck.
Our Total Debt: $26k
Start Baby Step 2: May 9th
Complete BS2-Debt Free:  May 2017 or 12 months.

We are going to celebrate after we complete BS1 with an XL Dominoes pizza 1/2 off!
and each step debt we pay off or maybe every month we will celebrate our progress
with a special memory that will bring us closer together as a family and we will
be enjoying our hard work and progress towards freedom from debt!

In Honor of the Persecuted- Until Eternity

In Honor of the Persecuted

"Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you." Matthew 5

Even if I am feeling down and depressed I can think of our martyred family and give thanks and show honor and respect for their faith, their strength, their perseverance, endurance, bravery and love for Jesus Christ. Lord, Let us be used for your kingdom and remember this world is surely passing and is but a small glimpse of our eternity with you in heaven. help us to look passed our selves today and be a blessing to someone, be compassion, loving, kind, thoughtful and a servant leader showing some hope, faith, and love to the lost, lonely, angry and broken souls that are trying their best to fulfill their knowledge of success and happiness; but we know who have been there and now are living as broken soldiers for the Lord, disciples being molded into your image, that happiness doesn't exist but a moment and that no amount of happiness can fill the whole that is meant to be the home of your Holy Spirit within our hearts.
Help us give honor to all our persecuted family and represent you with pride and do what is pleasing to you Lord. This world is so filled without hope and faith. Lets not despair in it but live like foreigners in it only showing interest in living for the Lord in such a way that the lost will be saved and the dark empty souls will be filled with Your hope, love, and spirit.
In Jesus' Name. Amen

You Are Blessed!

Introduction to the Sermon on the Mount

Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, and he began to teach them.

The Beatitudes

He said:
“Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
    for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
    for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart,
    for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Can you relate to any of these? I can certainly relate to several and the one I'd like to write a personal not on is verse 6 "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled." These Beatitudes are written about current physical circumstances here on earth and the fulfillment will take place in our eternal home in Heaven with the Lord. I know I can never get enough time to read in the Word and pray so I'm hungry and thirsty for that living water to and only it can fulfill that place in me and this makes me blessed but the fullness will not happen now but once this body passes I will be filled once on in eternity with Jesus. That's our hope and that's the faith we stand on Brothers and Sisters, Let it sustain you in this lifetime whatever you are going through remember you are blessed and count it all joy for your suffering because eternity is a long time and this lifetime is very short and limited in comparison. You are Blessed! Stay connected KimFincher.org

No Human Plan Can Stand Against the Lord

God has a plan for us! Even before I knew Jesus as God and the Lord of my life I believe He saved me from ultimate death and prepared me for His plans for my life. He has a plan and a future for my children. My youngest is four and once when my husband was praying and mentioned God our son said, "God, Jesus is God." Wow! to have such an understanding at such a young age. Even after my husband and me recommitted our lives to the Lord we didn't know that Jesus was God; without doing some studying and praying. That leads me to believe:
Proverbs 21:30 "There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the Lord."
The Lord gives us a great map to help us stay on the narrow path it's in the Holy Bible and here is one of the markers on this map which will keep us on the Lords path:
Proverbs 21:21 "Whoever pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity[c] and honor."
Righteousness is acting in accord with divine or moral law, free from guilt or sin

Righteousness=Prosperity=honor and life (eternal) Romans 2:7-8

For Further Study:

Israels Covenant with God- Promised Life and Honor
Blessings for Obedience Deut. 28:1-19
Righteousness and unfailing love Exodus 34:5-7, Deut. 7:9-11
The First and Greatest Commandment this is how we are to follow the law but are not bound to it: LOVE this is how Jesus Christ shattered the impossible laws of the old covenant and it's how we stand in righteousness and follow Gods plans for us: We Love the Lord God first and foremost and Love our neighbors as ourselves. We show others greater love, compassion and mercy.

Have you been standing on your own plans?
How will you change and make God first again in your life?
Have you been less than loving to your neighbors?
How will you change and treat them the way you would want to be treated?

He ordained His covenant forever

Psalm 111[a]

Psalm 111New International Version (NIV) click to read other translations

Praise the Lord.[b]
I will extol the Lord with all my heart
in the council of the upright and in the assembly.
Great are the works of the Lord;
they are pondered by all who delight in them.
Glorious and majestic are his deeds,
    and his righteousness endures forever.
He has caused his wonders to be remembered;
the Lord is gracious and compassionate.
He provides food for those who fear him;
    he remembers his covenant forever.

He has shown his people the power of his works,
giving them the lands of other nations.
The works of his hands are faithful and just;
    all his precepts are trustworthy.
They are established for ever and ever,
    enacted in faithfulness and uprightness.
He provided redemption for his people;
    he ordained his covenant forever—
holy and awesome is his name.
10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
all who follow his precepts have good understanding.
    To him belongs eternal praise.

Clothed in Modesty and Humility

"And I want women to be modest in their appearance. They should wear decent and appropriate clothing and not draw attention to themselves by the way they fix their hair or by wearing gold or pearls or expensive clothes. For women who claim to be devoted to God should make themselves attractive by the good things they do."
1 Timothy 2:9-10 NLT

"Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God.
1 Peter 3:3-4

Sexual Purity

see 1 Corinthians 5:9-11

1 Corinthians 6:9-11New Living Translation (NLT)

Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, 10 or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people—none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God.11 Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Temptation to Sin-God's Punishment, God's Love

Genesis 3

Please read all of Genesis 3 Chapter before viewing this study.

this commentary is for vs. 17-19 from the NLT Study Bible God highlighted his original command not to eat the fruit by speaking of eating several times in these verses. The judgement affected humanity's ability to get food, and it was proportionate to their offense of eating what had been prohibited. The relationship of the man to the ground was now antagonistic as judgement fell on his primary role. He must labor and toil to work the ground, but with diminished productivity. Human sin has broad effects on creation (see 4:12, 6:7, Lev. 26, Deut 11:13-17, 28, Rom 8:22)
vs. 21 God mercifully provided more substantial clothing for Adam & Eve before expelling them into the harsh environment outside the garden. Mercifully God prevented humankind from eating of the tree of life and having to live forever in a fallen state. Through Jesus Christ, however, eternal life is once again made available. (see Rev 2:7, 22:2,14,19)
vs 23: Before the fall, the garden was a sanctuary in which humans could move freely in God's holy presence. Now their sin required expulsion from that environment. This same principle was behind the laws that restricted an Israelite's access to God's presence in the Tabernacle or temple (Lev 16:1-2, Num 5:3)
vs. 24 In Genesis, movement eastward often implies leaving the presence or blessing of God, whether in judgement, or estrangement.

Revelation 2:7 commentary- The reward for obedience is fruit from the tree of life-that is eternal life.
Revelation 22:2, 14, 19 commentary- vs.2 Although humans were denied access to the tree of life after they sinned it is now freely available. The tree on each side of the river shows that there is no wrong side of the river in heaven. The tree produces twelve crops each month, demonstrating God's constant provision.
vs. 14 In response to the connection between actions and ultimate results, the seventh blessing of Revelation promises acceptance for those who wash their robes-those who have been purified by trusting in Christ and following him faithfully. (Read all of Revelation for a deeper understanding)
vs. 19 Since the time of the early church, the scope and the content of the NT has been established as the measure of the Christian proclamation (see After the Apostles pg 221 from the NLT study bible)

Fighting Fatigue-Renewing Your Faith

Matthew Henry Concise Commentary

Verses 7–15

Purge me with hyssop, with the blood of Christ applied to my soul by a lively faith, as the water of purification was sprinkled with a bunch of hyssop. The blood of Christ is called the blood of sprinkling, Heb 12:24. If this blood of Christ, which cleanses from all sin, cleanse us from our sin, then we shall be clean indeed, Heb 10:2. He asks not to be comforted, till he is first cleansed; if sin, the bitter root of sorrow, be taken away, he can pray in faith, Let me have a well-grounded peace, of thy creating, so that the bones broken by convictions may rejoice, may be comforted. Hide thy face from my sins; blot out all mine iniquities out of thy book; blot them out, as a cloud is blotted out and dispelled by the beams of the sun. And the believer desires renewal to holiness as much as the joy of salvation. David now saw, more than ever, what an unclean heart he had, and sadly laments it; but he sees it is not in his own power to amend it, and therefore begs God would create in him a clean heart. When the sinner feels this change is necessary, and reads the promise of God to that purpose, he begins to ask it. He knew he had by his sin grieved the Holy Spirit, and provoked him to withdraw. This he dreads more than anything. He prays that Divine comforts may be restored to him. When we give ourselves cause to doubt our interest in salvation, how can we expect the joy of it? This had made him weak; he prays, I am ready to fall, either into sin or into despair, therefore uphold me with thy Spirit. Thy Spirit is a free Spirit, a free Agent himself, working freely. And the more cheerful we are in our duty, the more constant we shall be to it. What is this but the liberty wherewith Christ makes his people free, which is contrasted with the yoke of bondage? Ga 5:1. It is the Spirit of adoption spoken to the heart. Those to whom God is the God of salvation, he will deliver from guilt; for the salvation he is the God of, is salvation from sin. We may therefore plead with him, Lord, thou art the God of my salvation, therefore deliver me from the dominion of sin. And when the lips are opened, what should they speak but the praises of God for his forgiving mercy?

Made Alive with Christ

Ephesians 2New Living Translation (NLT)

Made Alive with Christ

Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins. You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil—the commander of the powers in the unseen world.[a] He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God. All of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature we were subject to God’s anger, just like everyone else.
But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus. So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus.
God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. 10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

Pauls Prayer for Spritual Wisdom

Ephesians 1:15-23New Living Translation (NLT)

Paul’s Prayer for Spiritual Wisdom

15 Ever since I first heard of your strong faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for God’s people everywhere,[a] 16 I have not stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, 17 asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom[b] and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. 18 I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance.[c]
19 I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power 20 that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms. 21 Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else—not only in this world but also in the world to come. 22 God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church. 23 And the church is his body; it is made full and complete by Christ, who fills all things everywhere with himself.
